Testimonials and Success Stories

“Before seeing Dr. Buettner I was tired all the time and had no energy… I knew something was wrong but couldn’t get traditional doctors to come to a conclusion as to what was going on.  Instead most doctors would tell me I was depressed and gave me a prescription.  After only a few weeks of following the NRT program I have more energy and a better understanding of my health.  I feel great and I am now able to listen to my body for signals when something is out of balance.”    – Brandie M.

“Prior to NRT treatment I was having daily dizzy spells and headaches.  I constantly craved sugar and carbs.  After my first couple visits with Dr. Buettner I learned my diet was poor, even though I thought I was eating “right”.  Now I am adhering to the “Good Food List” to guide my diet.   My dizzy spells are now 100% gone and my headaches, sugar and carb cravings have improved dramatically.”  – Natalia M.

“The NRT program awakened me to unknown wheat allergies that were grossly affecting my mood and energy levels.   I was always foggy and tired.  After starting the NRT program I am feeling a million times better.  I am more alert, productive, and my daily lifestyle has significantly improved.  I have learned how to balance my diet better and to obtain the proper nutrition my body requires to keep me healthy and happy.”  – Sebastian V.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is Applied Kinesiology (AK)?
Applied Kinesiology is a system of manual muscle testing to evaluate body function through the dynamics of the musculoskeletal system. AK evaluates how efficiently the nerves are running between the brain and the muscles by testing how fast the muscles are “firing.”  This indicates to the doctor where there are imbalances in the nervous system.  AK is a widely practiced method of diagnosis and treatment that is currently being used by many chiropractors, osteopathic physicians, homeopaths, naturopaths, acupuncturists and other practitioners of alternative medicine.   AK procedures enhance standard diagnosis methods.

While kinesiology, which is the scientific study of human movement, was first developed in the 1920s by Robert Lovett and Wilhelmina Wright, and further expanded during the 1940s by Henry and Florence Kendall, the origin of contemporary AK is attributed to chiropractic physician George Goodheart, Jr., D.C., who in 1964 first observed the interrelationship between postural distortion and muscle dysfunction and saw how manipulative treatments restored neuromuscular function.  While developing his theory and practice of AK, Dr. Goodheart concluded that specific muscles are universally related to specific organs.  Because of this relationship, a wide variety of nonmuscular conditions (problems with organs or systems) are often benefited.

What are the goals of Applied Kinesiology?

The goals of AK are to:

- Determine patient health status and correlate findings with standard diagnostic procedures.

- Restore postural balance, correct gait impairment, improve range of motion, and restore normal nerve function.

- Achieve normal endocrine, immune, digestive, and other internal organ functions.

- And to intervene early in degenerative processes to prevent or delay pathological conditions.

Where do alternative medicine practitioners get their training in AK?

At the International College of Applied Kinesiology in Shawnee Mission, Kansas which was founded in the mid-1970s by Dr. George Goodheart.
How long will I have to be on the supplements?

Each case is individual, you will be on them for however long your body needs them or tests for them.  The more layers that are cleared, the less supplementation you will need.  The supplements are supporting your body’s needs until it can support itself based solely on sound nutrition.

How long will it take for my body to heal or become more resilient?

While each case if handled on an individual basis, the majority of patients who adhere to their programs have reported noticing positive changes in the first 4 to 6 weeks (some longer, and some sooner).  Your improvement is directly proportional to the adherence to your Designed Clinical Nutrition program.

DCN Program Guidelines

  1. To ensure optimal progress it is important to keep all your scheduled appointments.  Should you need to cancel, please do so at least 24 hours in advance and, if at all possible, reschedule your appointment within the same week.
Last minute cancellations are subject to a $45 cancellation fee.
  2. Initial appointment takes 45 minutes.  Please bring the following documents, completed, with you to your first NRT appointment.
    New Patient Intake
    NRT Authorization
    NRT New Patient Orientation
    Symptom Survey
  3. Follow-up visits generally take 10-15 minutes.
  4. To save time jot down your questions ahead of time and let Dr. Buettner know at the beginning of the visit.  Between appointments, call or email your questions.
  5. Try not to miss any doses of your supplements.  Missed doses will slow down improvement and extend the time it takes to complete your program.  If you miss a dose, please resume your supplement schedule as soon as possible.  If you find that you are consistently missing doses, please follow-up with us so that we can find a schedule that works for you.
  6. Nutritional products DO NOT normally cause side effects.  Occasionally, after starting the DCN program, you may feel a temporary worsening or even feel sick.  If this occurs, immediately call the office.   Do NOT cancel your appointment.  Sometimes these flare-ups are actually a ‘healing crisis’, as the body starts to heal it may be ridding itself of toxins that have been keeping you sick.  By identifying the underlying cause and fine-tuning your program we can help you to get through these types of situations more smoothly.
  7. Consider all the dynamics in your life that could interfere with or prevent you from undertaking or completing your health improvement program and contact Dr. Buettner for assistance.
